Born in Yakutia, in a small village where everyday life is inseparable from nature, the artist grows up within an animist culture that shapes her way of seeing the world: fire as a living being, forests inhabited by spirits, every river or tree carrying a presence. This spiritual relationship with the world, nourished by ritual, silence and respect, forms the matrix of her work. When she leaves Yakutia, she becomes acutely aware of how distinct her identity is within the wider Russian population.

Having become a photojournalist, she initially chooses to document what she knows most intimately: life in one of the most extreme climates on Earth, the beliefs of her people, and the vital solidarity that structures communities of the North. In doing so, she reveals a region that remains largely unknown, even within Russia itself. Her work explores Yakut spirituality outside any institutional framework: a simple fire can become a medium for dialogue with ancestors or with the spirits of nature. This intimate practice permeates her creative process, guided by a conception of the soul rooted in the landscape.

Now based in France, she continues to work from this dual sense of belonging: a deep grounding in Siberian cosmology combined with a mobile gaze shaped by displacement. Cold, light, ritual gestures and the presence of the non-human world become sensitive materials through which she questions memory, identity, and the ways in which landscapes shape human beings.
